I got in my first car accident this weekend! D:

I was riding with a friend of mine who is the same age.  It had just rained, and we were turning onto the interstate when the car hydroplaned and went straight for the railing.  She managed to turn the car enough that it only took out the front of the driver's side of the car, and we weren't going very fast (maybe 20 MPH).  We thought maybe she hadn't caused too much damage... Until we turned around and found her coolant part of her engine on the highway.  We had to drive another twenty minutes to get to her boss's house (where we had been going), and it was really scary.  Not only was the coolant stuff in her trunk now, but every time she turned the wheel the car screeched because the front of the car had been pushed into the driver-side front wheel.  Needless to say, we got there safe, and the worst damage to us was soreness and nerves.  Her car, however, was not so lucky.  Apparently, the damage was bad enough (probably to the engine and frame) that the insurance company is totaling it.
